Encaustics?
Encaustics?
Does anyone here work with encaustics? My sister gave me a ton of different colors that have never been opened. I don't use them and would love to find someone who could.

It's something I've always wanted to learn. A woman at a craft fair in Melbourne had the most beautiful pieces for sale and I always regretting not buying one.pbp908 wrote:Does anyone here work with encaustics? Has your sister used them before?

No. She said that my nephew had purchased them and never used them. He didn't send the warmer for the waxes - just the wax. They've sold the house in Ct. and she's living here permanently with my other nephew while Charlie purchased a sailboat and will be living on it. Therefore the big cull of his art supplies. Pat kept the oils and acrylics, which I have in abundance, as well as most of the canvases.
Re: Encaustics?
I'm so tempted...
If no one else claims them, send them to me. Maybe I'll actually take a class?

They're yours if you want them! I'd be more than happy to send them on.
Re: Encaustics?
Will look forward to seeing what you do if you try them. I think the art produced is stunning, but took a class myself once and decided it wasn't for me.
