Christmas ornaments for Ocracoke

Post by nchoney »

In addition to card making, I've been working on some ornaments to give to the Giving Tree project. I used, with permission, a graphic that’s being used for shirt fundraisers and found these wooden ornaments that I could decoupage. So, I painted the edges and then decoupaged the graphic on both sides. 100 ornaments are now ready to go!!

Go big or go home, right?

You're amazing. Only someone who has been through a tragedy like this can muster the energy and compassion you're demonstrating.

That's pretty much the case. I think I'm done for a while now. Mike and I can get off the island today so we're going to run away somewhere for a few days!!

Wow, you are a making machine! I hope you and Mike enjoy your downtime somewhere else for a few days. You both have really earned it. Is he all recovered from his injuries?

We got off the island as soon as we could once the road opened up today. We're up in Charlottesville, VA - going to visit Monticello tomorrow. Then we'll explore the area for another day or two. No crafting forme and no fire dept for him.

His foot still hurts. He may be living with that forever. He'll see the surgeon again in January to figure out if there's anything else they can do.
