Card using dies Farley found at TM
Card using dies Farley found at TM
So you all get an idea of what can be done with the dies, I thought I'd share what I made today, although I'll freely admit I was happy to grab the paper pad to diecut characters from for at least a few cards before I start piecing them together by hand.
The background on the front of the card is printed rice paper from Stamperia, an Italian company. I've bought bits of their stuff from Amazon and from The Rubber Buggy, an online retailer in Oregon, but you can google and find it a lot of places. They also have paper lines that are stunning.
Anyway... one of my coworkers has two boys with birthdays in the next couple weeks. The older one is an avid Harry Potter fan, so I made this card for him. Some of the dies I had, but Farley snagged me Snape, Ron, Harry, and Hagrid with Fang.

Very cool. He will love it!
And that rice paper is fabulous. I’ve come across Stamperia somewhere before...thanks for the reminder.

What a great card! That paper on the front is amazing!

I’m trying to understand how you did this. Are you saying those dies match characters that are in scrap paper you have and you just die cut them out!? Wow!

That's exactly it. The company sells pads of paper with character on them that perfectly match the dies. When the dies cut they give the illusion of dimension. You could also fussy cut the paper, or simply use the dies to piece characters, so it's good all around.paddlegal wrote:I’m trying to understand how you did this. Now you know why I was asking people to search for dies! There are a ton of Disney ones too, they come out with new sets, sell out of old ones. I'm really bummed that I missed out on the two word dies for Star Wars. My family are huge Star Wars fans.
