Has anyone tried them? They look amazing but do I need them?

I don't know about you Pam, but the answer for me is no. It's an added expense, and I don't use either my die-cutter or stamping platform frequently enough to justify that. Plus I find a bit of washi - of which I already have several lifetimes' supply - works fine to hold paper or dies in place. I also think a bit of washi is faster than fiddling with all the peeling and trying to get the grid on straight, etc.

I second Keitha. I think some people will find it amazing, but for me I just go nope. I have low tack painter's tape I use and it seems to work just fine.

I agree with Keitha. I use my TH stamp platform A LOT and always use washi tape.

I think it'd work great in the Misti if you were using foam-mounted red rubber stamps... without the Misti foam insert... then it'd stick to the plastic and hold your paper in place

or... it'd work on the Tim Holtz platforms...

I think it was actually designed to hold little dies in place on the plastic cutting plates in a Sizzix Sidekick - where there's nothing magnetic to hold those dies in place... then people are just playing with them for other purposes

I think you're right, Debi. Although I just use regular scotch tape or the low tack tape to keep dies in place for die cutting. Which reminds me, I need to see if my magnetic platform works well in the Big Shot. I had to replace my Cuttlebug a couple months back when decided to warp the roller and not cut thin dies cleanly in the middle, although it still works well for the steel rule dies.

One the one hand, it would be convenient when lining up letters to cut from a piece of cardstock, but on the other the low tack tape, or washi, works just as well.

So if I use up all my washi tape first...

Okay, stepping away from that band wagon.

Funny you mention this. I had a pack in my cart on Sizzix but waited too long and it sold out. However I do think it would be really handy to use on the glass mattes. I love my media matte but it’s slippery. That grid sheet looks like a good idea. I watched Tim demo it and he sold me. I like the idea of the small size as opposed to using washi stuck to the edge of my project. I’ve been using a repostionable tape runner but sometimes it scars the underside of the paper which may or may not be a problem. I’m still interested it getting a pack. I nearly got it on amazon but it was double the price of Sizzix. But then there’s the free shipping. Oh well, so far I’ve lived without it. Haha.

If you ever used a Cricut, you could try the
paper holder that comes with it, that was
low tack for paper

I just use blue painter's tape to hold mine down. I keep little pieces attached to my Cuttlebug and on the edge of the shelf in front of me for quick use.
