Office Birthday Card #4 - Swiper Card

Post by paddlegal »

Don’t know if you’ve all seen this latest craze, the Swiper Card. This is not an SVG but a good ole hand made card. Just one 8.5 X 11 card stock makes the base and the “wings”. Charley once again needs a group card for another coworker’s birthday. He sent me a photo of her office and everything in it is turquoise. That and this interactive card style made it pretty easy to create a special card.

All stamps and inks are from Catherine Pooler. I give all credit to this interactive card to Lesley Oman of Heffy Doodle. The only video I know of is on StampNation and only members have access to it. I’ve been unable to find a public video of it as yet. Not even on her own site of Heffy Doodle.

By pulling the top and bottom of the card apart the wings swing out to reveal whatever you like. If anyone is interested in making this type of card I’ll do a pictorial tutorial.

I have not heard of the swiper card, but I love it. Interactive cards are so much fun to make and to receive.
The gold with the turquoise is perfect.

Thanks Sue. It’s so hard to photograph metallics. The gold is actually copper which I love with turquoise.

No Marianne, there is no normal card base but there could be. The back is clear to do any writing. But it doesn’t stand up by itself either.

Pam I’ll do a tutorial soon. It’s pretty simple with only 4 card stock parts for the base and mechanism all out of one 8.5 X 11 sheet.

Love those color combinations, very cool. Charley is pretty lucky to have his built in card maker!

Thanks everyone!

Debi, he was worried he has committed me or as he put it, “painted me into a corner” into making cards for every staff member. How could I not? Love doing it. We laugh wondering what kind of card he’ll get in March for his birthday, LOL.
