Weekend project
Weekend project
As usual, I decided to create something that would take much more time than I anticipated or had available... so instead of getting my house cleaned up this weekend, I gave the die-cutting machines a workout and made 30 of these little centerpieces for the annual Fire Department dinner next Saturday night...
The bases are pieces of styrofoam wrapped up like little gifts... and then the diecut pieces are glued onto red/white striped paper straws.. All the little snowmen heads have a variety of faces.
I need to make these things in September next year... LOL

Re: Weekend project
Those are really cute, Debi. Maybe you can save them for next year before someone throws them away after the dinner!

Re: Weekend project
The members of the department will get to take them home with them.... a little party favor/Christmas decoration.
Last year I diecut vinyl and put a detailed maltese cross on one side of a battery operated candle and put the department numbers on the other side... again... a tedious project but they all thought they had been purchased from a specialty company, so that was a fun compliment... I think they'll all like these as well...

Re: Weekend project
Those are adorable and so clever. I hope you take a lot of photos of the room once it is decorated for us.

Re: Weekend project
The room will probably just have the ancient tablecloths and holiday centerpieces that have belonged to the older fire station that merged with us this year. I don't want to step on any toes, so I let those ladies do their decorating and then I just add these around the tables. It's a bit chaotic, but still fun. There's no such thing as too much Christmas decoration, right?
I may work on some banners for the walls for next year... that could be created early in the year and stored in big ziploc bags. So... another idea of something for me to do. LOL

What a cute project, Debi! They'll be a fun addition to the room's decor for sure.
