Glad life is getting back to normal and everyone is ok after Florence.

We're in San Francisco now visiting our niece. She started painting while she was going through a year of chemo so we did a trip to Dick Blick in Berkeley this morning. Big sale is going on now! I kept to my shopping list and tried to avoid browsing after I picked out what I wanted. Besides we had to get to her friend's yarn shop!

Glad to know you made it back to the US safely. I know that Berkeley Dick Blick store and it is dangerous! Also that arty neighborhood is filled with cool places to shop. So happy your niece is feeling well enough for you all to get together and have fun.

I have power, phones, cable, internet. AC is wonderful and a shower was almost heaven! Now, unfortunately, we're back in the land of mass communication, 24/7 news (helicopters have been circling us for 3 days now - not that we could see what they were recording), robo-calls, etc.

There are only a few roads in and out of the county. Many bridges are closed, sink holes, RR tracks washed out in places, roads are washed out. 401, 501, I-74 East is closed, I-95 closed in many places. This county is almost an island. Wonder if we can vote the County Commissioners off???
