Another activity during Re-Create week

Chicamacomico Life Saving Station will be doing the historic beach apparatus drill on Thursday at 2 pm.... this is currently performed by local men (Mike included) in period uniforms.... but this video shows what the drill is... when it was being performed by some Coast Guard personnel ...

Since I'll be off that week, I'll take a break and go take some photos .... if anyone would like to join me, you're sure invited!! I'll check with Mike to see what the fee is for visiting the museum and attending the drill presentation

Very cool. I really enjoyed touring the station.

Watching the drill is really eye-opening. Keeping in mind that those men were out on the beach during horrible weather rescuing terrified people off a sinking ship.

This year is the 100th anniversary of the rescue of the ship, the Mirlo.

Drat! They're doing the drill this week for the Easter week vacation crowds. But then not again til June. Sorry for getting that wrong. LOL
