she was a Wildflower / Is It Spring Yet? card challenge
Had a play with Brushos today using a wax (crayon) resist. The first card is a nod to Farley's Spring card challenge using floral dies - even though we're a long way from spring here yet. The flowers are also painted with Brushos.
The second card uses the same technique, but this time with a travel theme. After spritzing my cardstock and sprinkling on the pigment I left this one alone rather than manipulate the colour with a brush, and was happier with the final result.- Attachments

Very clever way to do a resist. It almost looks like you could control the Brushos! I'm thinking you emboss the background, rub over the raised part with the crayon and then spritz and add the Brushos... Or is it something else?

You've got it exactly right. I usually add more water because i don't care for the granulated look of the Brushos if they don't completely dissolve, and you can use a dry brush to pick up some of the excess water if you want.mpizzazz wrote:Very clever way to do a resist. These are both fantastic cards Keitha. I love the colors and both themes are are beautifully done
Just today I got to use Brusho for the first time! (I have Color Bursts) I went to a Stampin’ Up class and one of the cards used the Brushos. I love the results and the technique. I’ll be posting them hopefully tonight or tomorrow.

Oh no, Brushos? Do I need these?

You don't need these if you already have Color Burst dry pigment powders. But then you probably don't need Brushos either, LOL. I'm glad I had chance to play with them again yesterday to remind me that the pigment powders are fun and versatile. They just aren't predictable. Every application is going to be different. Stampin Up now has their version of Brusho...really the same product with their own name on it.

Love your cards. The colors are amazing. I have to pull out my Color Burst ones - I haven't used them in ages.
