Matchbook Pins

Post by katymjo »

It's our Quilt Show at the beginning of May, so we are all busy finishing things off and making stuff for the Tombola. We have bags and cushions, and wanted some smaller things like pincushions as other prizes. I saw this idea for a "matchbook" that has pins inside, instead of matches. I had a paper pack on a "sewing" theme, so used some of that. I ran them through the Cuttlebug with an embossing folder, which made them stronger.

This is the cushion I made as a prize. I began it at a workshop years ago, never got it completed, and will be glad to see it go to a new home!

Cute little matchbooks and very pretty cushion, Kathryn!
The little matchbooks remind me of the emergency sewing kits you get in hotels.

Such pretty prizes!
I might have to make some of the match books and add safety pins. Can't imagine how many times someone stops by our office asking for safety pins!

I picked up a nice emergency kit last year that had five needles ready-threaded with different coloured cotton! Just the thing for those guys who can't thread a needle :P
Safety pins would be a great idea, Pam. You never know when you might need one.
