Memorial Day Project

Post by pbp908 »

I love Pam C's challenge and thought I'd add one of my own.

Since this is Memorial Day Weekend, create something to honor those who fought to keep us free. It can be anything you like - shadowbox, ATC, canvas, journal page, card, scrapbook page - however you want to express how you feel about those who have served or are serving to maintain the rights and freedoms that we hold so dearly.

Another good challenge! I've got such a challenge back-up list now. But, there's no volleyball this weekend, and we just had people over for BBQ the last two weekends, so I'm really hoping we can take some time off from entertainment and I can spend some time crafting.

Here's mine. My nephew graduated May 22. This is a photo of him with my brother (his papa). They gave each other a hard time since Zac had to salute his dad and call him "Sir". I know how proud they are of each other. Zac's the youngest of 4 boys - I'm very proud of all of them.

I had several different ideas for this challenge, and I spent a fair amount of time in the craft room yesterday. But I'm just not "feeling it".. and it's so very frustrating. I specifically made plans to NOT HAVE PLANS for this long weekend. But my mojo is apparently off at someone's BBQ without me.

I got a bunch of 2013 layouts loaded into albums, and realized that I only have about 4 events left of 2013 to scrap, which is usually pretty motivating. But not today.

By the quiet here today, it doesn't look like too many others are spending the day in the craft room either.

I know what you mean, Julie. I spent part of yesterday trying to gather enough info (no photos!) to do a page about my stepfather's service years but it would have taken so much research to flesh it out and other things are more pressing.

Today I did do 4 hours of prepping journal pages for my upcoming trip to Australia. My friend, Wendy, gelli printed and I stenciled and painted pages. It was crafty but not related to either challenge.

I painted a flag on a piece of watercolor paper to make a tag but the colors don't exactly go with anything else that I have. My good intentions went to heck this weekend and today.
