The cycle of life

Post by Monica »

I've been very AWOL, I know. My last grandparent, Grandma Helen, passed away April 13th. My Grandma Maxon's best friend Jo, who was a second mother to my mom and her siblings and another grandma to me, died April 9th. And on Sunday the 23rd my mom called to tell me that Dad's doctor said to bring family to say goodbye. I'm in Southern California right now, after driving Sunday afternoon and night, crashing at a hotel for a few hours Monday morning, and finishing the rest of the drive yesterday. By myself as DH couldn't get away from work until later this week. He flies in Thursday morning.

Thank you all so very much. :happy94: Dad is still holding on for the moment, but he's definitely not long for this world. It breaks my heart to see him like this. And there are so many other family things hitting right now on top of this. We're all just holding on and enduring one moment at a time. I'll be in and out for a while but may not be back actively for some time. Which certainly doesn't mean I value you all any less, just that life takes its toll. :happy94:
