I've seen video of the flooding in Fayetteville, nc. We haven't started getting big rain yet. In the morning maybe.

We've been seeing reports in between football games. 4-5 inches of rain per hour is amazing. I hope you all are keeping yourselves safe and dry as possible in your homes. We watched the NC game today in Raleigh...the waves of water when the players hit the turf was like watching someone surfing! That's taking football pretty seriously.

Be safe good friends.

We just had a hefty band of rain for the past hour or so. Seems quieter now. They finally closed the highway. Now I just need to get Chevie to settle down.

Power is out here. Going to try to post this before my battery backup dies. It was windy and rainy during the night but we're safe and dry this morning. Chevie even braved the wind (with me) to go outside this morning.

Hope everyone else is safe and sound!!

Has anyone heard from Pam P?

We're good. Short power outages during the night but only small branches and debris in the yard. Going to meet an old friend for lunch today - west of here.

If you hear from other PAO friends, please let us know.

Pam P has no power and therefore no well. She's in one of the hardest hit areas they're having steak & salad for brunch. Everyone eats from the freezer when power goes out.

We're ok and thankfully never lost power. There is flooding and outages all around us. My DIL still has no power so I'm going to try and get to her to bring them here for awhile. My son is in the Czech Republic and I know he's really worrying about them. The grandkids are getting cabin fever.

My neighbor in Morehead said everything was ok there. It's been a very stressful week with my BIL and MIL both in hospitals 100 miles apart. She is 85, in very poor health and had a grand mal seizure while I was with her and ended up in ICU. Both are doing better. She's home now.

I'm ready for things to calm down.

I'm late in checking in here but we are fine. Ended with 6 3/4 inches of rain, fair amount of wind but never lost power. Our son & family in Raleigh lost power yesterday, still not back on. He is heading here to borrow our generator.

I'm sorry not to be on but we have been so busy getting the house ready for market. It will go on this week, hopefully Monday. Maybe things will calm down then.

We are all good. Never lost power thankfully (guess it helps that most of our lines are underground).
Close to 6 inches of rain so the yard is essentially a swimming pool.
Lots of trees down around us including a huge one right next door.

Beautiful fall day today, hard to believe such a powerful storm came through yesterday.

We started seeing some sound side flooding on the highway here so Mike brought Chevie and me up here to the fire dept. Our frozen food is up here too. There's generator power and WiFi.

Sure hope Pam P is ok.

We lost power for about an hour yesterday evening and had a "river runs through" our yard but no damage. Stay safe all - the water's still rising!! Going to try to call Pam P. :happy94:

Our area hasn't fared well in this storm. Seeing photos of so much flooding. I'm still hoping our house doesn't get wet and it will be a miracle that our villages are spared.
