Unread Messages

Post by mpizzazz »

Is there anyway for each of us to get rid of unread messages? I have 40 pages of them. On some forums you can just get rid of them as having been read. I don't see anyway here to do it.

Do you mean in the PM section for sent mail or in the actual forum? You can delete subjects (I think) if you're the poster. Let me take a quick look at how to do it.

EDIT: Forum posts - In the body of your posted message on the right hand side, there is a series of three boxes/symbols. Click on the X and then confirm that you want to delete the message.

PM section: On the list of messages on the right hand side, click on the empty box to select the messages. At the bottom click on the down arrow and select Delete. Confirm that you want to delete. I could give you better details but I cleaned out all of my mail boxes last night.

I meant in the forum itself. I don't actually want to delete them from the forum, I just wanted to "Mark As Read". I'm just being a bit obssessive about all the Unread Posts that I see all the time.

You could always change your view. I never click on view unread posts - I click on view active topics. You could also do a view new posts and that would only give you the most recent.

I figure if they're unread by now, knowing how we all like to read posts, then they'll never be read.

I usually click on View new Posts but also do View Unread Posts just in case I missed something. I've never understood how Active topics knows which posts are Active.

Use the 'mark forums read' text, from the main page, and it will mark everything as read. Then when you go to unread posts you'll only see what has been done since you last visited. That's what I do.
