eyelets
eyelets
Anyone still use these? I have a ton of the little suckers and would seriously like to get them out of my house. I have colors, metallics, shapes, different sizes.... started collecting them 15 years ago and still have WAY too many! They are sorted in storage containers (which I'm keeping) but I'll even put them in little baggies to the colors don't get mixed up.

Re: eyelets
I use them occiasionally but wouldn't need very many
Re: eyelets
I don't want any but what I have done with the ones I have left is mix them in with the brads of the same color so that I see them and think about using them as an option to brads. It has helped me to use them up.
But if you have tons of them, I don't know what to suggest other than load up lots of backgrounds with them or just give them away.

I'm going with the "give them away" thing.... mainly because I have almost as many brads and I will actually use those still.mpizzazz wrote:I don't want any but what I have done with the ones I have left is mix them in with the brads of the same color so that I see them and think about using them as an option to brads. Re: eyelets
I'll take some. I use them in altered art stuff; they help to reinforce holes for danglies. Doesn't really matter what color, but a variety of sizes would be nice.
Re: eyelets
I guess you saw that I am facing the same problem...........
Trouble is, I love those little suckers.
And they remind me of my early days as a scrapper. They were the most daring thing I did in those days.
My solution is going to be use mass quantities on a few layouts and unload them that way. I do love to use them on circular and bike pages.

Anyone remember going to crops and there was the constant hammering of eyelets as people used them to fasten their photos to the layout?ScrappinJen wrote:And they remind me of my early days as a scrapper. They were the most daring thing I did in those days.

some metallics or just mix a few up
Re: eyelets
I do my hammering now out in the garage on my "messy" scrap desk. Every time I am out there, my hubby opens the garage door and says, is there a little cobbler out here? Cute.
I try not to do it at night since I live in a condominium attached to others. Snort!

Re: eyelets
I have tons of these things and a boat load of brads. Someone posted a page not long ago that used a pile of them as raindrops. Clever idea.

Re: eyelets
You should really get one. Not only is it quieter when in use, it's also easier on your body than that eyelet setter and hammer! And added bonus: hole puncher too!
