Re: All the other stuff

Post by pamcook »

My Mia will be 9 on the 18th. How?!
I made up 9 little gift bags and this card for her. Will send them off to GA to be met with her papa and then he'll take them home to the UAE.
Getting gifts to them is always an adventure in itself. As much as I gripe about the USPS, at least sending mail here is (usually) rather easy.

This has loads of glitter and the blues are more similar IRL.

I think this layout fits the second Color Trend provided so I'm posting in this thread. Another Cantina layout, ALSB #3-4. I used gelatos on the strip on the left side. Stamps are from Ali Edwards Roots Story Stamp set. Thanks for looking.

I couldn't get Picresize to work tonight. Sorry if the quality is poor.

Just a bit of gold. Sparkly card stock used to cut title and sunshine. Cantina layout again. Am I getting monotonous???

This has got some of the colors (and I don't know where else to put it  )
Looking through the stash I found a pack of Club Scrap stuff marked "little blessings". I think I picked this up on a big sale - more for the cardstock than because it was baby related. Now I have a baby to scrap, good thing I hoarded it.

Since the kit is all yellows, soft greens and blues I added some pink in via stickers, ribbon and some cool die cuts Jennifer sent me!

Here's my layout from when we first got to meet Kate - using a kit from CS that's really old
I added some Thickers and some pink adds ons from my stash to make it more "girl"

Just having really good barbecue in WA (of all places :tomato: ). This place had the best blueberry tea. I've searched for a recipe - no luck. Looks like I'll have to back again.
More of the Confetti collection by Maggie Holmes and some really old stash.

Thanks everyone!
One more zoo page. No, I didn't try to add every zoo embellishment I own, it just looks like it.

Yes, Debbie! Classes start tomorrow - without me! :cool5: I'm celebrating by doing laundry and scrapbooking.
I'm sure these will post sideways but I'm the eternal optimist. Just maybe this time...
These were from an impromptu family get together last year. You're never too old to meet relatives for the first time.
Keitha, sometimes you just gotta declare an event "Best Ever".
Jen, keeping those stamp sets on my desk seems to be the only way I'll use them!

Okay, gals, do you all remember Magic Mesh? Yep! Still hoarding mine. CS called for "woven jute" on this ALSB but I didn't get the embellishment side so I dug this out of my treasure trove. It backs the Adventure cutapart.

Again, I don't have any burlap so I am substituting the old Magic Mesh behind the three little images on the top left. Another CS ALSB from National Parks. Love that kit.

Re: diecuts

Post by nchoney »

I went crazy using diecuts in this scrapbook of zoo photos... had lots of fun with diecuts from the swap and also put to use a lot of my own dies and my little Slice cutter... here are some of those:

Image

this elephant sculpture is formed of butterflies... and the butterfly on the end of his trunk is actually the silhouettes of two elephant heads as wings... so... I diecut an elephant and temporarily glued some heavy plastic from packaging on top of it... I punched a bunch of tiny butterflies and fastened them onto the clear plastic... then I diecut two tiny elephants and used the heads to make that yellow butterfly on the end of its trunk... I removed the original diecut elephant after cutting the plastic under the edges of the butterflies... so.. all you really see is the butterflies that make up the elephant shape.

Image

had a little fun with this too... put some handmade paper behind the openings in the diecuts... gave them a little more texture and interest

Image

this is cool bumpy paper... so I cut the big tortoise shape out of it.. Mike and I are standing by a big tortoise climb-able sculpture

Image

I used washi tape to cover the rope/branch part of this diecut

Image

I cut the giraffe out of a photo of a close-up of the giraffe fur that I took

Image

the matting paper and the feathers are cut from a shiny white paper.... the background is shiny/glossy paper... so it looks pretty cool in real life

Haven't had a lot of time to play in my studio. I've been dreaming up this idea as a tribute to Cecil the Lion since the story hit last month and I've been working on it since I got home. Finally finished up yesterday.
