I was able to complete 7 projects this last week at CS camp. I took 5 projects with me on our camping trip and did projects while the guys fished.

First, I completed my Letters on the Wall from RIAB 2012. I think that's my last project from the box and it's nice to have that completed.

Then I did 2 paper luggage boxes (the instructions for these are in the Arts & Crafts scraprap; very quick and easy project) that I'll use along with a set of cards for gifts.

Next is another project from a scraprap. Time & Space this time. It's called The Envelope Please and uses 3 envelopes on the inside that can be used for gift cards or tags with art or gift "coupons" on them.

Yesterday, I got back into wind chime mode and made a black and white themed one. I have detailed pics on my blog if you want to see more of it.

Re: Camp Art Journal Class

I'm going to put this in here because it would be an art journal page if it wasn't a canvas. I tried the background technique by Mark Perry that used the black paint, textures and the stringy glue mixture. I couldn't get mine to go stringy so I just used some of that eyelash fiber bunched up and glued all over. I also added molding paste and crackle paste under the black paint.

And, no bras were injured during the making of this.

A few details to see the backgrounds. I used my paint stiks for the rubons over the black paint.

Just for fun I thought I would show this too. While I was working on the black textured thing, I was pressing the excess paste off the stencils on this piece of stiff cardstock from the stencil. I'm sure you will recognize whose stencils they are.

I painted it black in some areas and rubbed some of the paintstiks over it, too, not knowing what it would become. When I turned it on its side, I could see a snow capped mountain (her face) and one with a pagoda on the top. So I added the boat and a bit more white and grey paintstik for the water.

I don't think this can be classed as "Fibre Art" but as it's made with fabric, I thought I'd share this cushion here! I made it for a Craft Break I will be teaching in the Autumn, so I really needed to get something finished!

Decided to make a fabric bowl for my cousin's upcoming wedding gift and then thought, I'd sure like to make some coasters to go with it. Light bulb moment....I got all this leftover cork from my dad's office clean out last year, I wonder if I can sew the cording around the cork. Yes, I can!!!!

The first coaster I made turned out too big and it's a little rough since I was learning just how fast I could sew through the cork. I had to slow the machine down to a crawl and take it out of the machine after the first round, then put it back in making sure the presser foot was not on the cork. 2 broken needles when the foot leapt off the cork convinced me of this step. I turned the too big one into a wine bottle coaster instead. You can see the difference in size in the lower picture. And I thought it might be nice to stamp a little sentiment or quote on the cork with stazon.

Here is another one for the WC over at CS. We spent the last 2 weeks installing our new wood-fired hot tub. And, we got to try it out for the first time a couple of nights ago. Check out the hot chick in the tub! It is soooooo cool. I never would have thought you could submerge a firebox and heat water up that way, but it works like a dream. It's just big enough for the 2 of us to sit and have a nice soak after a chilly day out on the boat. Ahhh, Bliss!

Ron over on the CS blog posted a little tutorial on making a digi layout look like you used mists and masks. Gave it a try this morning and love the effect. Going to be digi misting alot now that I know how to do it. Only thing is.....I'm not all inky.

Since we discovered these chocolates at our local supermarket I've collected quite a few empty boxes! I had a go at covering one to take cards and pens, stamps etc.

Re: Fiber Arts

I've been playing with fibers more than paper lately. Here is one that doesn't qualify for the challenge but I'm posting anyway.

Kool-Aid dyed yarn. Base yarn was Knitpicks Bare yarn for dyeing with grape, black cherry, watermelon, orange and lemonade flavors. It was way too bright. Robin called it Lisa Frank yarn. So I overdyed it was a packet of grape in half a pot of water and now I think it will knit up into something an adult will wear.

I haven't been making much lately that is ready to post other than this card for the Club Scrap monthly card sketch. Hope you don't mind my double posting.

I used the Tribal digi kit to print onto Club Scrap stash. I like the result. Simple but nice.
