"Queen" could be Mother, Sister, Friend, One of the rock group, Actress, Movie role, a guy even--if it so moves you, or as the title I chose in one of the games we play, "Queen of the House"!

Ok, this theme was really a struggle. I couldn't come up with anything. It got so bad I even told DH about it and right away he came up with something I could tie in with my overall theme of Deck of Me.
And so, it's all about The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, an Aussie movie from about 1994. This will represent all the Australian movies that I really like. They are so different from your standard American movie or they were back in the 90s when they were really producing some interesting movies.
Also, just as a matter of interest, DH and DD stayed in the hotel in Broken Hill that is in the movie.

It took me a long time to think of an angle for this one, to suit my Childhood DoA...this is all I could come up with.

Journal reads: "Surely the dream of every little girl in my hometown was to become Backfischfest Queen. Backfischfest is a week-long annual festival in Worms that starts with a parade and ends with a water joust and fireworks, with a large funfair and lots of events in between. The Queen for the next year was always chosen at the first day from one of the girls riding on the parade floats, so in the weeks before the festival the race was on to catch a lift… I was sometimes invited onto the float of the large plant nursery near my home because I was friends with their girls – but needless to say I was never chosen as Queen…
