USING Die Cut shapes

Post by pamcook »

Because I know myself and what would be my tendency to be so excited to get all these envelopes of die cut shapes in the mail and NEVER do anything with them - I'm searching for ideas about using them. What a concept, right?
As you find ideas, please post them here as well.

True to form, Shimelle's video uses the basic circle and pinked circle dies and uses the pieces along with other embellishments for a page. I hope you find this useful as well.

I'm looking forward to using all the goodies folks are sending in the swap... but also finding more ideas for using a lot of the dies like the nested circles and other basic shapes...

I've been using my slice a lot lately while scrapping... I have a bunch of great designs at my disposal, so I need to make it worth it... also need to buy as many more blades as possible since the company is out of business and I'll be at a standstill once I run out of blades for the darn thing... :-(

I'll take some pics of my recent layouts tonight and post some of the diecut uses in here..

I watched the video, but I don't have any just shapes dies. I do have a Cricut, tho, that'll cut them. I've got to remember to use it.

The bad thing about watching that video is that it led to watching about six others. They kept me awake (I'm the only person holding down the fort) and I learned a lot, so dual purpose. Loved the one about making a sketch your own. Says the woman who hated sketches a few years ago. ;)

And it keeps me from crying, so chalk another goodness up to Shimelle.

Whatever works, Pam, to keep your mind busy and not crying at work! :happy94:

If you don't have the simple shape dies. you could also stack up various chipboard shapes, punchouts, stickers to make embellishments. Pop dot everything and it's a really impressive embellie.

I think once we all get our dies we MUST create at least one thing and post it here or a specified thread. I received Nancy's today and can't wait to make a card and even a scrapbook page!

Thank you Nancy for the fabulous goodies. I don't know how you managed to make all the dies and get them out so fast Ms New Grandma. :D

My envelope arrived but I am hoarding it. I will open it when I need a spirit lift. My Technique Tuesday set arrived in the same delivery. So I'll wait til a day with no good mail.

Jen you're so good. When something arrives here it's opened immediately. I'm into instant gratification.

I had enough going on yesterday. I haven't even opened Tech Tues. Was just back from our long drive to Chico and I did make a few purchases at Chico Scrapbooks so I was satiated for the day.

Thanks Nancy!
I layered some butterfly die cuts with some I had and embellished them with Wink of Stella and stamps and Stickels.
Obviously lifted from Shimelle's video.

Just saw these page titles and thought it'd be fun to make something like this with some our diecuts. Don't know why I haven't thought of layering the lettering on top of diecut shapes til I saw those.

Hoping the link works. First time I've copied and pasted on the Kindle. (Yay! It worked.)
