I was told by a pretty good source that they changed the digi kits because too many people were cancelling the paper ones.
So they made them different to try and sell more.

I sent a message to CS and got a quick reply from Jac. Basically all she said was I should compare the paper kit to the digital kit to see what the differences were. She didn't really answer my questions.

So, if I understand this right, if I'm not a member of any subscription, I could still buy stuff but at the non-member price? It's been so long since I was a non-member, I thought you had to be a member of some club to buy anything.

Thanks All!

NO you can buy even if you are not a member
They changed that quite a while ago.
CS member get a 10% discount

Another thing people are telling me is they thought if you didn't get the kits you couldn't get on the CS community boards.
You can belong there too

Add me to the long list of people who really don't like the new digi kits. I was was just starting to dabble in digi when they changed the format, and like Pam said, way too many silk flower clusters, twisted ribbons, and funky embellies!! I want the digital papers to be the same as the paper kits, with an option to buy an expanded version. I simply don't understand why they can't continue to offer that, as I'm pretty sure they create the paper versions in digi form anyway... but what do I know? I'm merely the consumer spending money there. I'm at a point again where I'm considering whether or not to cancel membership of the Sr kit, as Comics is okay but not really my thing, Lotus Pond I love the look of but am having a hard time actually using, and I really only liked about 4 of last year's kits. I miss the days of kits like Rhapsody, Surf's Up, Paisley, Refresh, Chapter One, Mosaic Twist, Time & Space, Fossils, Retreat 2005 Aviation... you know, the kits you loved and hated using the last pieces of?

Just my 2 cents' worth....

I know exactly what you're saying. I quit several years ago because there were a couple of years where I only liked 4 out of 24 kits. Plus the fact that I was amassing a huge amount of paper that wasn't being used. I'm considering letting my digi membership go - it's just really not worth it to me anymore because I'm not using them. Besides, I'm starting to use paper again and I'm liking the paper kits a lot more than the ones two years ago. I just don't think I'll ever be exclusively a CS user, tho. There's too much more out there that I really love.

There are some paper items that are members only, though that may be for a limited time, then go on to open sales, not sure.

I absolutely am annoyed with the change in the digi kits. But I figure for my digi membership, I can shop as a member anytime, so the few dollars it costs is worth it to me. I get both the regular kit and the expansion each month. So my monthly total is what 12-13 dollars? And I keep my member status without accumulating paper.

I still do the senior kit ans embellishments, plus the digi and expansion.
it's my hobby so I'll collect and give to my grandkids.
Besides photography and scrapbooking I don't do much. Maybe build a pc once in
a while. Since my health goes up and down I'll always have something to work on.

Update:
I have received further clarification on my questions from Jac since someone on PAO forwarded my comments to her. Jac has been very helpful.

No doubt the person who contacted her thought they were being helpful, however I would have appreciated them pm'ing me to offer their assistance rather than the way they did it. No one likes to think that they are being tattled on.

This is one of those times that I wish we had a "Like" button on the forum. I'm sure they thought that they were being helpful, but I really think that this forum should be like Las Vegas - what happens here should stay here. That's one of the reasons why this forum was created - so we could talk freely about whatever.

Unfortunately, as my DH points out all the time, the Net is a wide open book. It can't be like Vegas because anyone can read what we post-ex husbands, children, lovers, former friends ..........

We act like it is a private group but it isn't.

Just for the record, I know that I made comments about passing on info to Club Scrap, but I did not do so this time. I might pass along anonymous comments, but never names. That would annoy me too.

But we should still be able to talk freely without someone taking our remarks elsewhere. That's my objection - If someone wants to come and visit Las Vegas, fine. But if it's said here, it doesn't need to be quoted elsewhere except by the person who said it, and even then I have my reservations because then it would be out of context.

I don't think anyone should pass on info to CS.
This isn't a CS forum.
