Something pretty for the weekend

Post by jfugina »

I decided I needed new necklace for the wedding we're going to this weekend. I found a pattern for a choker, and I actually had most of the necessary beads. It took way longer than I was originally anticipating, and if you look close, you can see that I missed a step of the pattern in the middle. I didn't see it until I was photographing it. Oh well - not about to un-do an hour's worth of work! LOL.

Not sure if I'll try for some coordinating earrings or not. I'm happy enough with this that I should at least try for a full set. We'll see. TFL!

Julie, that is a knockout necklace! Really stunning...yes, must do earrings now. The other guests will be wanting to know where you purchased the set.

Awesome - and I agree - you need the earrings too......and Farley's right - they'll be asking where to get one like it....you could go into the jewelry business.

Thanks for all of the nice comments everyone! Diana - no way could I make a living at a jewelry business - I totally don't have the patience! LOL. That necklace took me three hours, and once I do a project like that, I'm very done with beads for a long time. Not that I didn't enjoy the project, but it doesn't take long to realize that my eyes and my dexterity aren't what they were 20 years ago. Besides, I can live with the occasional little flaw, but if I were making something for someone else, I'd probably stress over making it perfect, and it would take twice as long. So I think I'll just stick with making things for Nicole and me. :-)
