Norse Treasure Necklace

Post by azemigh »

Had a wonderful time at the SCA event last week end. Heather and I took a Norse beading class and made treasure necklaces. Then I decided to use some of the site tokens I've collected over the years to make some strings to use as garb embellishments.

Here in Oregon the dress is very comfortable, in Arizona it can be sweltering.

Those are so cool looking! I'd wear one.
I always get tickled seeing you in costume. It's neat to see one of us partaking in other hobbies.

I love your necklaces.
I used to do Civil War reenactments and volunteered at the living history museum. The folks loved that my kids were in costume. When we moved to San Diego, we were briefly involved in the group that reenacts the local history. Scouts & sports eventually took over. It's a valuable service these "reenactors" provide. History lessons are priceless.

Thanks Everyone! What I love about this picture is that Pepper, our tasmanian devil dog is standing still and looking at the camera. It was really fun that Paul and Heather got into the spirit too, since this was their first event. I think Heather tried on every one of the pieces of garb I had.
