Florida

Post by InkPattie »

This is a scrapbook store in Lake Worth, FL at the intersection of Lake Worth Rd. and US 441. While it has mostly scrapbook stuff, they are slowly bringing in more stamps and inks and other goodies. I can find almost all of Tim Holtz' stuff, except the stamps. They have a few of those, but not nearly enough!

Scrapbook Central is a scrapbook store, but it is HUGE and they seem to have the entire line of Inque Boutique clear stamps, including all the dollar ones.

They also won a weekend of classes from Tim Holtz, so they had lots of his stuff the one time I was there.

They have HUGE rooms for classes/crops, so it looks like it would be fun to take advantage of the facilities.

They recently started taking one coupon per person a week from the big box stores, and I'm on their email list and they just started sending out their own coupons.

It is right off the FL Turnpike in Coconut Creek (near Ft. Lauderdale), in a weird building that looks like a nightclub on the ground floor. They have the whole upstairs.

THis one is in Jacksonville. We were up there for New Year's a year ago, and I managed to get in to a couple of stores. I'm pretty sure this is the one that sells Copic markers and will refill them for free if you bring in your dried up ones. How cool is that?

The coupon email I got today said they are renovating the parking lot, so you have to park in the lot next door. If I hadn't had a mapquest for it, I wouldn't have found it the first time; it just doesn't look like normal retail space!

Here's a site with a long list of stamp/scrapbook stores in Florida. You definitely need to call first, as they go out of business about as fast as they open!

Claire's Collectibles in St. Augustine is just a few blocks from the Old Fort, and there is a bead store a few doors down. If you are ever there, send your family to the fort to look around for a few hours, while you do the stamp and bead stores!

Claire's has a huge collection of WM stamps, everything you can imagine. It's small, so there's not room for too much else! But if you are on vacation and need an emergency fix of stamping, she can fix you right up. Very friendly, too!

They recently moved and renamed themselves; this used to be Stamping Memories in Cooper City. Josie is the owner. It's a 50-50 mix of scrapbook and stamp stuff, but she's got some very nice WM and clear stamps, plus lots of project supplies like chipboard and Technique Tuesday products, that sort of thing. I haven't been to the new store yet, now that the one close to me started carrying more stamp stuff, I don't have to make the looooong trip down to Ft. Lauderdale!

This is a classic stamp store, with WM stamps lining the walls, and every imaginable stamping "thing" crammed into a too-small space! Definitely worth a road trip!

Griffin's Home Accents in Ocala is a place I stop every time I drive from West Palm Beach to Panama City, as it is about halfway along the 10-hour drive and I need a break!

I could wander around this store for hours! THey have Heidi Swapp and lots of scrapbooking stuff, but they are starting to have clear stamps. They have some old remnant WM stuff, but I don't think they are refreshing that stuff. You can find the basic stamping stuff here. They also have beads and yarns and silk flowers, and a fabulous array of Christmas ornaments. Great to shop for clearance after Christmas!

There is a leather and handbags outlet next door, too, but I never seem to make it over there...

When I was in Florida, I went to a store in Lakeland and one in St. Pete's...the name of one of them was Violette's...can't remember the other. They were both really nice stores.

Is the scrap store you are thinking of Scrap a doodle or something like that?
