What I did this weekend...fabric cuff

Post by ChristyB »

So with the house virtually empty for 3 days I got a lot of crafting done.
One of the items I made was my very first fabric cuff.
I am in love with how easy and quick these are...and perfect for using up all that hoarded lace, ribbon and fabric ;)

I love it! I do love this trend - reminds me of the 70' s and although you might not believe it - I am that old. ;)
We wore the leather cuffs back in the olden days.

Very cool Christy! What a great way to use up your fiber stash. I have some ready made canvas cuffs (somewhere) that need to be painted on. Thanks for the inspirational reminder.

Great job Christy!! You are channeling my inner hippie!

Pam, that's exactly what that reminds me of too....the 70's! I had a pair of jeans that had something like this sewn on the pant legs. I loved those and wore them to shreds.

I must really be ancient. They reminded me of the Victorian era.

They're really pretty.

Wow! That's really pretty! I'm guessing they're just various strips sewn together? I also love the use of embellishments - it reminded me that I have a watch face that I bought a long time ago with the intention of making a beaded band for it. But a cuff watch would look great too.

Shoot... I need to be more girly. Or maybe I just need to have some sense of style. I ADORE that cuff, and I love making beaded jewelry. But when dressing myself, adornment of any kind is the very last thing on my mind. I put on my wedding rings by force of habit, but that's all. I wish I could get in a habit of accessorizing - it would expand my crafting fun by leaps and bounds!
