Bird Crazy Mixed Media

Post by pugmom »

I've been playing with TH's Bird Crazy stamps and dies and decided to try Shrinky Dinking the birds. I loved how they turned out so I used them on a mixed media piece. The background is a piece of Roben Marie Smith paper. I added some paint, ink, rub-ons, tissue tape, etc. Then I mounted it on mat board.

This is super Sue! Those birds are just adorable. Great idea shrinking them. And you know, TH is bringing out a scaled down version of the birds and their accessories all in one set. I may have to cave in for the little ones. Great job on your project.

They do look good on that project.

Farley, I agree that the smaller ones should be fun. These big ones were bigger than I anticipated. Might have t shrink some. LOL

Fun project; those crazy birds are a perfect subject to shrink. As a fan of Roben-Marie Smith, I have to ask about the background paper. Are you saying you made it in her style, or did you get her paper somewhere?

I have Volumes 1 and 2 of her paper, some sticker tape, sticker circles, sticker arrows and some art pops - I love it all. Here's a link to her store.....http://shoprobenmarie.com/.

Thank you, everyone.

Brilliant idea to shrink the birds, Sue!
Would they be earring size now?

Earrings would be very cool. I went to Roben-Marie's website and also joined her FB and Instagram pages. Love her art.
