You ladies are doing a terrific job on your journal. It is so very nice to see what you have been doing. Maybe I'll get to doing some soon. I am about done with most of my Christmas stuff.

I used to really enjoy making Christmas cards and doing other Christmas projects in January when the pressure was off and you can actually enjoy it. I'll be finishing up my journal then since we will be away for several days. I might stop mine before the end of the year. I noticed someone on JYC posted their last pages from 2014 just as this year's started. Anytime is a good time to do it.

Funny but sad. Both of our December gals are down for the count. No video from Shimelle nor Ali. Shimelle lost her voice and Ali has a bad ear infection. I'm going through December Daily withdrawal.

I think I have mentioned that Shimelle's word "manifesto" kind of stopped me in my tracks. On several levels.

Then last week, my other December gal Ali posted a quote from Sister Joan D. Chittester. It really sums up my feelings about Christmas at age 61. If you care to read it, check out Ali's blog on December 19.

Jen,
Don't let that one word stop you. Keep in mind that the "big-ness" we give to "manifesto" May not be the case in the UK. Just a word. So think more of how Christmas manifests itself in December. Does it come sneaking in quietly? Or does it barrel its way through? Or a little of both? Then just write a little intro to your journal or scrapbook. I used the quote from the Grinch and added a few notes.

Now that all my gifts are wrapped, I'm going to pull out my book and get some pages finished. I have the whole evening to myself, so I'm going to make the most of it. Then I'll post some!

Also, too, if you've followed Shimelle for long, you know she has a quirky sense of humor, partially American and partially British. I think she uses the word a bit tongue in cheek but she also said that when she started JYC she wanted to take it seriously because she was losing her Christmas spirit so she chose a serious word. So as Debi says, a big word for what can be a very simple statement or wish. It is surprising how many people say in their "manifesto" how they want to take back their Christmas and not get carried away with all the commercialism and keep it simple.

Maybe Kathryn will chime in on the word "manifesto" from a British point of view...

Jill, your pages are really pretty. I like the way you divided these two into quarters and made the embellished areas.

I did 3 quick pages this afternoon but won't have time to post them before we leave tomorrow. We are having our Christmas morning tomorrow.

I made some good progress tonight! Wrapped all my presents this afternoon. Just have to add ribbons and tags. Hope the gremlins don't mix up the stacks while I'm sleeping. LOL

Then I brought out my JYC supplies and got some pages finished but then went through all the prompts so far and put paper and photos and some embellishments in page protectors in the 8x8 scrapbook and now they're ready for me to just work on them. I'll pick out some more embellishments tomorrow and then I'll be able to pick up the album and put the pages together. Yay!

I haven't looked at tomorrow's prompt yet. Still have to figure out the reality checking one. Might be a good chance to explain why the house is still in an unfinished condition - and so we don't fully decorate for Christmas just yet. Hmmm, just solved my own dilemma. :-)

I'm finished through day 22 .... except for a few that I have photos in mind but haven't taken them yet. I know it's a journal... but I'm a photo-kinda-gal

I also can't stick to just the prompts... so it's kind of a mix of JYC and the month-of-December-in-the-life LOL
