JYC 2015 (Post your creations here!)

Post by pamcook »

This is the place to post your creations for JYC 2015. I hope we'll all post on Shimelle's forum but if we post them here as well, our PAO sisters can see our creations.

You are an optimistic little elf.

I did make some pocket cards over the weekend.

Hope I can follow through on this. I have a list started of ideas I want to cover. Over twelve so far.

I have the hardest time finding this topic but here is what I have done so far.
First, I am trying the basket to corral my stuff in a basket. It really does a much better job than pizza boxes strewn all over the place. That's not to say that drawers aren't hanging open while I paw through random labels, tags, and other stuff. But the basket is helping.

title page and Day 1. I chose a quote that exemplified my perfect Christmas. I'll elaborate on it later but it boils down to the 4 or 5 Fs: Family, friends, Fun and Food and maybe something Fizzy....

Day 2 First signs of Christmas. This went off on a tangent of its own because I was trying to find photos of a shopping mall in Brisbane on the first day we arrived. It's an article about one of the major decorators of the malls/corporate spaces, etc. in Brisbane, Australia, and how they work on it all year. I printed the article (in the envelope on the left page) and some of the photos.

I know you will all find this hard to believe but I've actually been keeping up every day. My Journaling cards for each day are already written and printed. I am making collage gang prints of small photos so I haven't printed any of those yet until I've got a few to print. Hopefully next week I'll have two pocket pages to show you. Woo hoo

Marianne, nice job so far. And I have also corralled my supplies in a low sided box with several baskets inside. I am loving being limited to what us in there. I don't tear my entire room apart every five minutes. That's not to say that if I come across something that is appropriate, it doesn't get added to the box.

Hers a photo of my supplies.
So far I've only added a spool of bakers twine and some bits of gold star vellum I found while purging yesterday. My punches aren't visible because they're corralled with my tools to the right of my laptop.

Had to get cards finished first, but I've been keeping up with reading the prompts and I know what I want to do for each page. Yay! My Christmas stuff is already in two totes - one with paper and then a smaller one with all the embellishments. So that work is done. I just need to put everything else back in the scrap room.

Sometimes getting the idea of what you want to do takes the most time. I need to search for one of my best gifts today and take a photo of her.

Here are my Days 3-6.
Day 3. A precious gift. My stuffed dog that I have had since I was about 4. She was loved a lot and is threadbare, lost her squeaky tail and has had tongue, nose and eyelid transplants.

Day 4. Calendar for December. A work in progress.

Day 5. First page photo is cards I've made. The actual page is part of a card that Cheryl sent me one year. It was damaged but I saved the base with the red diecut on it. Too nice to throw away.

Pages 2 and 3 of Day 5. Christmas cards. A Card list and envelopes with stamps and in the mailbox. I love postage stamps and save them to use as embellishments especially Christmas stamps.

Page 6. Cozy. An old sweater I bought at the Goodwill years ago. I love those Scandinavian deer and snowflake designs. I need to get another one before this one falls apart!

Thanks, Pam and Jill.
Pam, among other things, I explain on the pull out card that my dog never had a name until she became pals with Robin's dog, Woof. Robin named her Gladys so she finally had a name after all those years. I should ask her if she knows why she picked the name, Gladys.

Update from Robin: There was a cow named Gladys on Sesame Street at the time and she thinks it was the first name to pop into her head. I know you were all holding your breath waiting! I'll have to write that somewhere.
