Vintage Velma Dolls

Post by azemigh »

One of my best sellers at the summer market are these little dolls I've been making from broken and mismatched vintage jewelry. I got on a roll this week to try and replace some of the inventory I sold at the Christmas Bazaar and made 5. I try to keep them between about 3" and 6" long.

1st--Minnie the Mayfly--a saucy little barfly who buzzes around the nightclubs of New Orleans.
2nd--Graciela DeVille--Cruella's kinder sister who does her best to thwart cruelty to animals all over the world
3rd--Flora DeLee--A happy mermaid who seeks out flowering coral along the reefs of the Pacific Ocean

And the other 2 from this week's session.

Pearlie Mae--A devil may care mermaid who cunningly coaxes oysters to give up there treasure in exchange for one of her curly locks.

Miss Kitty--A purrrrfectly pretty southwestern cat who keeps her town safe from villains and outlaws alike.

Love the curly gold locks, Rachelle! That cat would scare away anyone!

I never heard of Velma dolls but these are adorable.

Thanks, I made up the name. I needed to call them something and Vintage Velma just stuck.

These are wonderful Rachelle, and their names and descriptions are as creative as the dolls themselves. I don't think Miss Kitty is scary at all.

I love them all. I have one of your dolls from a past swap and she oversees my overstuffed room. :D
