70th Birthday Card

Post by paddlegal »

My big brother and only sibling, Mark, turns 70 next week! I've had this card in my head for awhile and finally put it to paper this week. This is an old Karen Burniston die from her Sizzix days and is a favorite of mine. Mark has been a train buff all his life. When we were kids I had to be careful walking into his room so as not to step on and mess up his enormous collection of "Trains Magazine" which he started collecting at the age of 3 according to our mom. Anyway here is my card to him...an easy chair, a pile of his favorite magazines, the family dog Max and of course I had to put a bird on it. Mark and I laugh about how my birds are his trains. WE. ARE. GEEKS.

Thanks so much everyone for your kind comments! Once I get involved making this type of card I really have fun with it.

Debbi the mini mags were a moment of brilliance and I think made the card. By going to Trains Magazines' site I was able to copy all the individual back issues and print them out through Photo on Mac using the proof sheet option. I was lucky the scale was fairly close.

Wow! That's not just a card or a work of 3-D art, it's personalized sculpture!
Excellent work!
