Hand Carved Stamps

Post by mpizzazz »

One of the things Keitha and I did during our crafty week was hand carved stamps. I had drawn a poinsettia petal and leaf while I was making Christmas cards but just carved it. This is the first printing. I'm going to shorten the leaf and use masks to overlap the leaves and petals.

You're definitely an inspiration, Marianne. Even once I unearth my stamp I don't think it's card-worthy on its own; I see it more as a layout embellie maybe.

It could be stamped in rainbow colors for a card front either in a row or spiraling around a greeting. But with your love of cardmaking (not!), I think a layout embellie will be the way to go with it.

fabulous, Marianne.
I bought all that stuff ten years ago. How many stamps do you think I have carved?
Exactly one.
A number 2.
I needed it for something I was making and that was as far as I got.
You have inspired me to try again. I've been aching to try a feather or a chevron.
It would have to be a simplistic design for me.

NICE!
Looking at the stamps on the table
I would never guess that they were
hand carved, they look very professional

Jennifer you sound just like me! Yesterday, while searching for blank tags, I came across some pretty napkins I have had for years to use for a technique. I thought, "I ought to just take these into the kitchen and use them as napkins." Did I? No, I stuck them back on the shelf to use "later" for papercrafting.

Funny, you mention napkins, Judy. Yesterday while I was doing the quick sorting of my flower bag, I came across some napkins and put them in the discard pile, But, wait, I thought, we could actually use them as napkins! So up the stairs they went to the napkin basket by the table. I'm sure I will find some others as well.
