Inspired by Cheryl's Cards

Post by mpizzazz »

While looking closely at Cheryl's gorgeous Anna Griffin cards I realized I could do something similar but a lot simpler with a lot of stuff I've been saving-sheets of Christmas stickers that I got in Grab Boxes, printed cutaparts from paper, junk I saved for Tim's Christmas tags, etc. I'm trying to clean it all out this year.

Tim's Embossed kraft paper is another target to use up. Maybe I'll like it by the time I use it all. Another easel card. I couldn't believe how well the embossing and glittered reindeer showed up in the photo.

These are all Basic Grey stuff from a Grab Box except for the Tim greenery.

I'm also using the small stickers from some of the sheets on the insides of the cards, too.

Thanks very much! I'm really glad to do something with this stuff and get it out of here. Who knows, next time I want Christmas stuff I might have to buy something.

These are great Marianne. It feels so good to use up stuff... Not that I have done it in a long time, but I can remember the feeling of using a whole CS kit. Lol!

I had a similar thought when I looked at the box full of Christmas embellishments that I've finally sorted and put in one place.... I have a lot of sticker sheets, etc.... or partial sheets, especially.... so need to use those on some cards and then get ahead of the game this year.

I do remember last December saying that I was going to do all my Christmas cards by February... LMAO .... maybe by October??

You guys would laugh yourselves silly if you could see my pathetic little Christmas stash that I am trying so hard to use up. Some of it must be over 14 years old. One pizza box with papers and stamps, one small box like the old CS Jr. boxes with card ideas and embellishments and one pizza box now full of finished cards.

Back when Christmas was really busy for us, I loved making cards in January. The pressure was off and it was nice to do something Christmasy and have the time to enjoy it. Try it next year. Just remember where you put them, I've been known to make more cards in about October forgetting that I already did it!

Good luck, what I found helpful with some of the stuff was to search for card images of the kit on Google images. While I didn't duplicate anything exactly, it gave me a few ideas to use some of the things I struggled with. Otherwise, it was trial and error and looking at Cheryl's cards, Tim Tags, etc. And putting little stickers on the inside of the cards at the top or bottom of where I will stamp a greeting (in about November) used a lot of the little filler stickers that went with the fronts of the cards.

I'll post the last ones tomorrow.

Here are the last of them.

The two with the paper cones need something but I'm not sure what. Any suggestions welcome.

Bottom photo is not very good. That domed reindeer thing is very glary with the sparkly bits inside.

Very last ones. I've packed it all up. I made 26 cards out of the debris in my Christmas box.

They're all just wonderful!

I've thought and thought...the only thing I could come up with would be some words of some sort (on the cards with the cones). They're beautiful as they are though.

How about a little tag with Merry Christmas stuck in the paper cones.
