another desert page

Post by Keitha »

One more using Crate Paper's Journey collection, which will be beside the last one in my album. PageMaps sketch from a few years ago called for two 4x6 photos which I replaced with the photo collage.

So so pretty!
I might have to try making/using photo collages.

I've fumbled around with them before with moderate success, but this video really streamlined the process for me:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xYLV6t1 ... G7g6wVdxcQ. Who knew about the Place tool? LOL There are probably other tuts online but this is the one I found. You just have to remember that this was written for digital scrapping, so when you open your blank canvas and size it, you also need to change the resolution to 300 from 72 or it won't print well. The other thing I do, after placing my photos and saving this as a .psd canvas, is then merge the layers and save it as a .jpg for printing. If space on your hard drive is a concern and you won't need to change this canvas again you can then ditch the .psd file which is huge.
I would also comment that I am working in PSE not full Photoshop, but for these make sure I'm working in Full Edit rather than Quick Edit where I normally work. My normal MO is to edit/size my photos first, so then when I place them they appear exactly the right size on the collage canvas, if that makes sense. Now that I've made a couple and know what I'm doing, this one took me less than 5 minutes - printing the individual photos would have taken longer.

LOVE the paper and the triangle patches on the edges. Great idea for the collage. Thanks for the video link. I'm going to watch right now while dinner is cooking.
