I very, very rarely ever go out and order the newest. I have to say as far as the glass mat is concerned. I bought one years ago at the Corning Ware Outlet as a protector for my countertop. It's 16 x 12. It cost about 10.00 I think. It has been a great work surface here in my craft room I have used it for everything that Tim mentioned in his presentation. It even has those little sticky dots on the corners so it doesn't slip around when I'm using it.

Just sharing a cost saving tip too.

That's very clever Barbara! I'll bet you could even print out a grid and adhere it to the underside and have that feature as well. I haven't ordered this yet, because I haven't convinced myself that it delivers anything really new to me. And as rarely as I heat emboss, it might make more sense to just use a glass board like this and get it out when it need it. For me, the glass for embossing was going to be the big advantage, because I already have a large cutting mat with a grid on my work surface.
