Die Malfunction

Post by mpizzazz »

Does anyone else have this die from when we are all doing the Gina Marie buying?
I can't get it to cut nicely in the Cuttlebug with any paper I use or sandwich I concoct. I get enough of it for the outside needles to be useful but the shorter interior ones aren't much good.

Oh no. I didn't realize y'all had a Gina Marie buying binge; I did pick up a few myself about a year ago but haven't used them yet. I was having a bit of trouble with the interiors of the layering dies I used the other day, but just adding another layer of cardstock to the sandwich seemed to fix the problem. I have one of those metal shims but it was too thick to go through my Cuttlebug when added.

I didn't get that one from her. Sorry it's being a pain.

It could be a problem with the die instead of your cutter. I haven't had any problems with their dies in the Vagabond. Contact them and see if they'll replace it.

I thought I'd ask here and then contact them if nothing else helps. I even tried my brand new flat B plates instead of the old curved and cut ones, nope, didn't help!

I've got a few sizzix dies that aren't as sharp as they should be, and they're the super thin ones, so they don't work with any kind of thick cardstock in the first place, which is why I avoid them if at all possible. I've also got a prima die that cuts a beautiful doily, provided I've got the proper shims. I have post-its with that die describing the perfect sandwich/shim setup. And even then, the paper tends to stick all up in the die and has to be carefully poked out. Not fun. I hope the manufacturer replaces it for you.
