2018 February Card Challenge - Is It Spring Yet???

Post by paddlegal »

Though I am not buried under snow I am buried in typical Valley Tule Fog. YUCK! The sun has been hiding for most of this past week in dense fog. So I needed to bring some sunshine into my Vitamin D deprived life and what better way to make some “Springy” floral cards for any occasion.

Drag out your floral stamps and dies...I KNOW you have one or two...and bring a spot of Spring here to PAO.

I pulled out this Hero Arts stamp and die set and started inking it up with my newest Distress Oxide inks. I had no idea where I was headed other than to play with happy floral images.

Thanks Pam and Pat! This was a fun exercise in using the newest Oxides. I’m looking forward to making more non-winter, non-valentine cards. And bonus this morning...the sun is out. No morning fog today that burns off at sunset. Yay!

I received Oxide inks for Christmas and have played a bit, but haven't actually made anything with them yet. Farley, your cards are beautiful and I love the new colors.

I'm working on a card now that uses a die that I got last week. Will post it shortly.

This card uses the flower die from Concord & 9th's Floral & Flutter Die Set, some old Club Scrap paper and a cutout from a beautiful new paper set called Mintay by Karola Birdsong Collection. The cardstock is that pretty orangey/red and turquoise blue combination (it looks red on my monitor).

Farley those colors really pop out! Gorgeous and yes I am more than ready for spring. We don't get much snow here either but the cold we've been getting.
