2017 June Christmas Card Challenge

Post by pamcook »

Okay, found my inspiration. Now I just need to find time. All-important hair appointment tonight - still might have time to make at least 1 of them.

Interesting that you chose this technique this month Pam. On one of the scrapbook pages I did a couple weeks ago I gilded the bottoms of the chipboard letters I used for the title. I like it when old techniques come around again - and I already have the supplies!

Same here. I've had that stuff staring at me from my "use it or lose it" pile for weeks now. The gold on her cards has me motivated to use my gold embossing powders as well. So, the answer to the question is, yes, you can use gold (metallic) anything if you don't have gold (any metal) leaf and don't want to buy any.

I have been piddling around with this silly card most of the day!! I found some gold foil and used it although it doesn't look gold in the photo. This is the first thing I have posted in eons, finally getting settled here in Mesa and starting to feel at home. I still have to hang a few pictures but I do a little every day. There are installers coming tomorrow to install French doors so I'm excited for that and electricians coming to put in more plug ins in the "scrap garage". Next I am having a corner desk built in the garage and Look OUT, I will be ready to scrap!! LOL!!

So cute!
I've used about all my Christmas die cuts but I think I can make some clusters with the bits I still have. Your snowman is perfect.

It's good to see your work again. Pretty exciting to set up a new crafting space!

It must feel good to have all your stuff and be back creating again. Cute snowman! I like the texture of the background.

Debbie, are your stripes cut from that gorgeous Jen Hadfield collection? It's my all-time favorite and still, I can't remember the name of it! If it's the one I'm thinking of, heavy-weight with a gold wood-grained pattern?

Love your snowman Debbie! Happy days for you being able to create again. I hope we get to see the garage studio when it's done. Great idea putting in a built-in desk.

No Pam, this was gold foil, I glued it on white paper and it in strips. That's why it took forever! I'm pretty sure there should have been an easier way but it escaped me at the time. Well, I used up that foil sheet that has been hanging around for years.

Finally. I was stumped for what sentiment to use. I knew I'd botch a stamped word (watercolor paper) and I'm fresh out of chipboard sentiments. My few die cuts just didn't work. This acetate piece was the only one I had that would fit in the space so that's what I used. I hope to make at least three more using this metallic leafing set.
