2016 Christmas Cards - June challenge

Post by nchoney »

I've got my idea in place and will be posting my sample tonight.... but... I'll give you a hint... it's a Masterboard theme

just to give you a sneak peek in case you're new to "masterboards" .... here's the basic idea:

http://jofirthyoung.blogspot.com/2015/1 ... cards.html

but there are lots of other ways, too... just do a search for masterboard cards and you'll see lots of ideas!

great way to use some stamps you haven't used before... and dies, too!!

Was that what we used to call a Master Sheet or One Sheet Wonder? It's always fun to cut up a background like that.

Super idea! There is so much inspiration going around that we should have no trouble fulfilling the 30 day commitments many of us are doing.

probably like the mastersheet.... you create it yourself by stamping random images on one sheet of cardstock.... then use that sheet on multiple cards - either as a diecut element or as a background for a diecut or a sentiment, etc.

you could also follow a one-sheet-wonder sketch to cut the whole piece at once and create your cards

I've got some die-cutting in mind for mine :-) didn't have time at the house last night so I'm hoping I will, tonight!

Finally got my cards created!! Yay!! It was a mix of the concept of a one-sheet-wonder and a mastersheet... I used this set of stamps - Graphic 45 Night Before Christmas ... and ran with the stockiings and "not even a mouse" ideas...

Image

I got 10 cards out of the one 12x12 mastersheet and 5 sheets of white cardstock and some sheets of red, green, and brown cardstock...

Wait, am I awarding them in the wrong thread? Regardless - you earned them!

Those are really cute. One of my favorite poems. I did a masterboard using some die cuts as masks and texture stamps. Sorry, forgot to take a pic before I cut it up. I did it on white paper and then left some pieces white and inked some up with vintage photo so I could use with my more vintage paper. Only got 4 cards done, but have some ideas for more.

Now this is one I used to do years ago. I'll need to see if I can revisit it this week. Good one Deb!

I'm getting double duty for this challenge and my June 30 Day Challenge. Yay!

As I posted on the other thread, I need to work on this Master Sheet idea. But I will also say that these cards look better IRL than here. I made 3 holiday cards and one non-holiday with this sheet. I liked the idea of using kraft paper for the base with mainly pigment inks and card stock in less traditional colors. I used a number of large and small dies to create the panels and some of the embellishments. I like my hearts card the best.

Ooh great cards Debbie! It looks like you went for a similar look to mine but with FAR greater success! Your colors stand out more.

I like them both! Farley, yours look like line drawings, love your choice of stamps. Deb, yours give me a winter in the woods feels. Great job, girls!
