April Christmas Card Challenge-Shaker Box/Card/Gift Tag Idea.

I based my cards on this idea on the October Afternoon Blog:
http://preview.tinyurl.com/zr8wkz2

Mine are a focal point on a card and then can be removed to be an ornament or a gift tag. I suggest using 3x4" pocket pages to have more room to add dimensional "stuff" in your pockets as well as using PL cards. I used pictures cut from old Christmas cards for some of my card fronts and pockets. This is a good project for using up odds and ends of embellishments, stickers, sequins, rubons, ribbon, etc. You can attach things to the outside of the pockets as well.

To seal the pockets, use a Fuze tool, a wand style applique iron or a variable heat soldering iron set between 10 and 20. If you aren't adding fine glitter like I did, you could just stable, tape or sew the pocket shut.

Make traditional shaker boxes if you prefer. Have fun with this idea however you choose to do it.

OMGosh Marianne! These are outstanding! It just so happens that a friend who is on a long vacation loaned me her Fuse Tool. Haven't tried it yet so this is the perfect challenge to get me going. Brilliant idea.

Fun challenge and lovely cards, Marianne! You know I'm not a card maker, but I do have a Fuze tool and could certainly use some tags...

Fabulous challenge! And I know exactly what I'm going to do. Though I don't think I'll make five. Shakers are too time intensive for me.

Wonderful samples!
And I have a FUSE tool
I'm kind of thinking of making tags for this years Christmas. We recycle/reuse gift bags every year, but I always need new tags for them.

I make a lot of cards but not shaker cards. This will be a real challenge.

You are reading my mind Miss Marianne! I just watched a video yesterday on making shaker cards for planners. I think this will be fun.
