Feb 2018 - Stamping!

Post by pamcook »

I've searched and can't find the last time we did the stamping/scrapbook challenge so I'm throwing it down. AND I'm resurrecting the monthly scrapbook challenge.

Your challenge is to use a minimum of 3 stamps on a scrapbook page. How easy is that? I almost always us a date stamp on mine anymore so there's one.

I'll post mine tonight once I make it. Will search for some examples online today and add them.

I just watched a Mercy Tiara video in which she did some stamping on a layout... and I had to really laugh... she went to all the trouble of stamping and heat-embossing dollar signs on a ~3x8 piece of paper to use as a layer under her photo... and then she added so many other embellishments that half of one dollar sign showed in the layout.

What a concept - stamping on a layout, LOL. Obviously fits in with something I want to do more frequently, so I'll have to give this a go. Thanks for the nudge Pam.

YES! I want you to have some more examples to inspire you. Hoping to wake up the other scrapbookers in our group.

Of course I forgot to pick up the print of Mia and Dumbo and it’s on my Snapfish account so I can’t print it from home. I wanted to get this posted so tomorrow I can switch it out when I’ve added it.

5 stamps - date, “remember this” “happy” “story” and the little row of tiny stars (?).

This is lifted from one Shimelle did last week and will go next to the other Dumbo layout in the album.

Unfortunately we still haven't located the external hard drive, which is where all of my LOs are. Scanner isn't hooked up, either. I hate living in disruption! I'll try to find my LO with the stamped background and post it.

Well darn. After all that looking and finally found it, you had beat me to it, Pam. Oh, well. Never hurts to have things in two places. ;)

Back to Route 66 after the winter page break, and the only drive-in left along the Mother Road. Once I’d decided on my title it amused me to render it in fuzzy letters; I fear that’s the last of the vowels in this old set of velvet Thickers. I stamped a background behind my title in Distress ink and the popcorn tag is stamped and embossed. For the 3rd one I stamped the ticket on a Shrinky Dink and made a charm which is on the banner. I wrestled with some rub-ons that matched my paper, and always consider it a victory when I manage to incorporate a few buttons - they’re my scrappy nemesis.

I love every detail about this page but my favorite might be that you used the stamped image behind the title. Brilliant!

I like that stamping behind the title too.... great use for a bigger stamp like that.... definitely going to keep that in mind as I do some stamp sorting!

Lots of interesting details, Keitha. I like the piece of striped paper at the top of your layout, with what look like rows of film sprocket holes. Great idea!
