Pam, I love your layout! Not familiar with the genre, I'm going to have to look up Beach Music. Like you, my teen influence is a few years later.

Good idea to use our stash.

We should have a challenge to use the oldest stuff we own. Pam?
I was thinking just that today when I was going through some of my paper.

Keitha - Look up the Tams, the Platters and the Drifters on youtube. They're considered to be classic beach music. Also you may want to look for videos for the "shag." It's the official dance of NC. (I could really use a "barf" smilie. :wtf: )

Okay, I'm a sap. I love beach music - from the cheesy Embers to the Beach Boys and I wish I could learn the shag.

A day late and a dollar short, my mantra!!

This is Jak exploring a really cool cave in the Black Hills. He loved mining for gems the best.

When we got home from our little 4 days trip he says "Guys, where we going next year?" He's so cute!! And now instead of 7 hours away he's 16!! Wah!!!

Oh no, further away?

It's OK, Pam. You have a lot of company in that.

Growing up not that far from the beach in SC and now a NC resident, I really should like it. I guess it's because I was so much into the British invasion, and then as I got older my taste in music moved more toward jazz and American standards. Now for some reason I like light opera (current favorite is Rossini's Duetto Buffo di Due Gatti, which I can sing most of!) and Scottish folk music. I guess my likes go back to the family motto - de gustubus non est disputandum, aka "there's no accounting for taste." And if you really want a good laugh, look up that Rossini piece on youtube. Seriously. There's only one word in the entire piece - meow!

I'm certainly familiar with the Platters and the Drifters; just didn't realize there was a whole genre called beach music. I think I even know what the shag looks like!

As for using our oldest supplies, I've got so much in terms of vintage supplies I have no idea what is oldest. Pretty sure my original purchases are all used or gone, but I have a lot that I've probably had for a decade or so. However, I'm trying to consistently use both old and new product on my layouts, so the new stuff doesn't have a chance to become vintage.

I love beach music. And I adore Alabama! Dad and I went to their farewell tour stop in Portland. Great layout, Pam, even if you don't appreciate the genre.
