I have an artist friend in Miami who used to have a pet rooster (thankless creature), and he painted a wonderful portrait of him. I always admired it, and for my 50th birthday, when he asked me what I wanted, I said I wanted his rooster painting. Alas, he had just sold it a week or so before! So he promised to paint me another one , and today he called and offered to meet me halfway between here and Miami to give it to me. Woo hoo!
