Just when I thought I'd settled in to my new home and new studio and I might teach a class or two, my LSS is going out of business. Boo Hoo! She tried to sell the business, as it is not going under due to slow sales, she is just ready to retire and wants time to create her own art, but alas, no takers. So.......I took one of her last classes yesterday, a cute witches hat centerpiece. Had a great time and of course, bought a few things at the sale. The store will probably be gone by the end of October, so it'll be online for me now, maybe that'll help me curb my addition to supplies.
Here's my hat!

Now that's a great hat, but what sad news. Especially since it's not due to lack of sales that the store is closing. Does she teach the classes herself, and will she perhaps still do that someplace else in future? Although without getting her supplies at wholesale costs, it might not be worth her while.

That seems to be happening a lot. Glad for now we at least have Michael's & A C Moore around but shopping on line can be very expensive also.

Our LSS closed because of a jealous husband. I really miss it, but it hasn't slowed my purchases down much.
Re: Woe Is Me......
Well, now that you're settled, Rachelle, don't you want to buy a scrapbooking store?
Re: Woe Is Me......
That's too bad, it's nice to have an actual store to see things in person and take a class.
Our LSS has just leased a new bigger storefront, and they want to start offering more in the way of classes. Hope it works out! Go there once a month to meet with friends and work on things so I get my fix of shopping then!

Re: Woe Is Me......
The scrapbook store that's up near where I work is closed by the time I get off work... so not much shopping there. I get some good deals on things at our Tuesday Morning (and do too much shopping there) and I buy online too... when there are things on sale. I'm hoping to try some more group classes once the building that has the workspace is undergoing mold treatment. Once that's done... it's a great building/room to have workshops in. Maybe you can find a room or building like that and order your supplies ahead of time and still do classes. Or .... a community building ... something like that.
