Thank you Pat and Cheryl! That's very interesting about the filming of Gone With The Wind! Thanks for posting that. I read reviews about Paula Deen's restaurant and one person said its a waste of stomach space! I found several others that look like great places to eat too.

You might want to check Hyman's. I think that we enjoyed the meal there.

The ONLY reason that I went to PD was it was included in the tour. Everything was swimming on butter or fried. It may have changed a little since her medical problem.

Some of my friends have eaten at Paula Deen's and were disappointed. They said it was expensive and not that much better than any other Southern restaurant. Also, the deserts are a la carte instead of on the buffet.

The tours are worth taking, especially the areas where Midnight In the Garden of Good and Evil was filmed. And the old cemetery is almost a must-do.

Congratulations! Charleston also has a great aquarium. Across the river are the ships you can tour. A battleship, submarine and another smaller ship. I loved doing that.

I'm in the veto of Hyman's corner, total touristy and charges tourist prices.
Lots of good smaller places to eat.
On way to Savannah you can also stop by Angel Oak

it's dated at 1500 years old and rather cool. Quick visit.
