And it is beginning! We're hunkered down and ready as we can be. We're in the direct path. Requesting prayers for us NC coastal girls and our families.

From what I'm seeing on radar it's almost on top of Hatteras. New Bern is getting hit by the outer edges. Thinking of you all.

Checking in.... before going to get a few hours' sleep

Things are up off the floor.... mostly..... if I get a report that there's flooding, then I'll pick up more things....

Mike is at the fire station..... I'm going to ride it out in my house.... nothing happening yet.. at 10:30.... it'll all start around 2 a.m. I think.....

I'll keep you posted as long as I have power or batteries!! :-)

Around 4:30 the sound came east and flooded my house with about 10" of septic water. Still have power and it seems to be subsiding now. Had a lot of stuff picked up. Rescued what else I could.
Will keep you posted on developments.

For those of you not om FB...Debi hasn't posted anything else yet. Laurie made it through with no damage although no power ( I think she said they do have a generator). Anyone heard from Carol?

We only got a 90 second sprinkle. Poor trees are suffering...

Nothing from Carol, but Debi posted again. She said that she's afraid the new wood floors may have to be replaced, as well as the washer, dryer, and dishwasher. She's also throwing away all of the food in the freezer because of contamination from the water. I hate like heck that this has happened to her and Mike again.

We're fine! We were on the western edge of the eye at landfall. It was a cat 2 when it hit here. We lost power for 8 hours but it's back on. No damage, praise God. We're very thankful!

So sorry Debi that you had flooding. Laurie glad you're ok.

Ready to get on with something less stressful. Happy 4th everyone.

Just got most of the icky stuff carried out of the house. Had about 10 firefighters from a couple departments come help clear things out. Going to keep things in freezer til trash pickup resumes. There was minor road damage and they still have to do bridge assessments. Well be able to stay at the relative's house that we stayed in after Irene. I still have to throw out some things in scrapbook room. Didn't lose any photos or completed scrapbooks.
Thanks for the amazing warm loved feeling I get when I log in here!
