Hero Arts February Card Kit - Spoken Bird

Post by paddlegal »

After cancelling my SSS card kit I jumped right into ordering “one time” the Hero Arts February kit Spoken Bird. It’s adorable and going to be a lot of fun. As you can see the stamps come with dies. A lot of dies that I had to snip, snip, snip. But it was worth it. Also included were 4 cards out of a wood grain texture, 3 ink cubes and two little wreaths.

So I had to jump right in and make one card before I call it a night. Hoping over the next few days I can get emersed in this kit.

Thanks everyone. I can’t wait to get back to the stamps tonight. (Going birding after my aquafit class for the afternoon...maybe a little before the class too, LOL)

Too funny Keitha. Yay! I am considering subscribing for a few months.

Took a break from scrapping the past couple of days to play with this kit. First up, an attempt at no-line watercolouring. Apparently I need a steadier hand, better glasses and a brush with stiffer bristles. I'd have preferred some slightly different colours as well, but my objective was to use up some leftover ink in a palette so I worked with what was there.

Today I pulled out my small Dylusions art journal. Paint, gesso, Gelatos, stencils, stamps, archival ink, embossing ink and powder.

In LOVE with both of your art pieces! Beautifully done Keitha.

I too want to try that watercolor technique. I watched a video (Lydia’s) on that technique...must try it. I’ve got some free time coming up this weekend and plan on getting busy with that set. I have a lonely Dylusions art journal that needs my attention.

Has anyone noticed who has this set that there isn’t an actual Gull in the flock? None of those shapes speak Gull to me. But I love the “hey Gullfriend” stamp.

Anyone?

I thought in a pinch the bird looking back over his shoulder could be used as a gull. Couldn't decide if they were all meant to be specific species or not.

Yes, I think he definitely might be a gull, given the right coloured plumage. Some of them look as if they could be British birds too!
