Rainbow Maker

Post by nancine »

I'm taking the latest Online Card Class - Rainbow Maker. So far most of it isn't earth shattering new techniques. But it gives me inspiration and motivation to create, and I learn a few tricks along the way. One neat idea, using a post-it note while inking your paper to protect from finger prints/smudges.

Here's how: Place the post-it sticky side up and place your finger tips (hand you use to hold down project) on it. Now the note stays stuck to your fingers as you move paper and ink.

Here are some cards from the lessons in Day 1. There was also a lesson about making your background with pigment inks - basically just direct to paper. But I don't have a rainbow of pigment inks and I'm not about to purchase them, LOL.

Post it notes! What a brilliant idea! If I'm not smudging with my fingers, I'm getting acrylic block lines where I've gotten ink on the edges of the block and transferred it to my project. Yes, I know using my MISTI would prevent that problem but I'm that lazy.

These cards are just gorgeous. How did you resist buying all.the.ink?

Yes to the garage cooling off, the weather has been a bit more cooperative lately!
If I get really hot I take a break and go drink a glass of ice water.

Well, I resist the pigment inks because I just don't use them enough.
Now other inks, like new colors for Catherine Pooler coming out in the fall? Resistance is futile!

You keep talking about those darn inks and you know I'm gonna cave. They sound fabulous!

Great tip with the post it note. I'm gonna try that rainbow thing. Also a few other things I've seen Catherine do. She's amazing.

Me too but amazingly I resisted.

Nancy both cards are awesome...my favorite is the "sending hugs". LOVE it, the colors and the black dots really make the card shine. Those balloons are really clever also. Glad the garage is cool enough to work in. Sticky notes...brilliant!

Great cards Nancy.

Speaking of ink pads...I think I need new ones. The large group of hybrid ink pads I have are Club Scrap. I went to re-ink them the other day, and even the re-inkers seemed tired. :(
I do have other inks, 1 or 2 same brand, but basically CS is it.
Somehow I did not catch on to all the different brands out there. Off to look at these CP ink pads.
