July Cards

Post by nancine »

Here are some things I have been working on. The blue and pink is some Whipped Spackle through a stencil then some glittery embossing powder over the top. It's a fun, sparkly card IRL. Then a simple card with some new stamps.

we had a challenge over at Stamp Nation - making the inside of a card decorated in addition to the outside. This was one idea I came up with. For the front panel I inked up my cardstock with CP ink, then placed the stencil over top and removed color with a baby wipe.

Those are all very cool cards. Love that spackle.... fun sparkly look.

and the ink removal with the baby wipe looks like a great idea! I'll have to try that, for sure!

I love them! You cannot, however, call any of them "simple".

These Catherine Pooler cards always make me smile. Her stamps and colors are wonderful!

The one with embossing powder, did you heat the powder?

And I wholeheartedly agree with Pam, ain't nothin' simple about them. Fabulous.

To heat the powder, first I set it aside to dry for a day.
Then I hit it with a heat gun - I tried a bit while wet but it makes the spackle bubble up.
So a day to rest seemed to do the trick!

Thank you both!!!

These are all outstanding Nancy! Hardly simple and your use of all these great techniques are inspiring. CP is a fool not to have you on her DT. I hope you are hash tagging them somewhere where she would see these.

Thanks Farley! :D

I did post them in Stamp Nation
They did just have a call for DT at Stamp Nation (they call it dream team) but I was too chicken to apply. Maybe next round? I think they are only for 6 months so not a huge commitment.

You need to go for it. What have you got to lose?

Oh, maybe time. I guess it does take a lot of time to make monthly (weekly?) masterpieces.

I am half tempted to joi. The stuff I see is so wonderful. But I'm thinking I need to focus my time and money on layouts, not cards. I'm already spread too thin. Ha ha

Oh for sure Nancy...go for it. It's a commitment but no reason for you to be chicken. Your cards are always excellent and these recent ones have certainly promoted CP products well. Tempted, I am, because of you.
