Two Birthday Cards and a Calendar

Post by paddlegal »

Tomorrow is a double header Birthday at my craft group. So of course I waited until today to make cards and one gift. One friend is a paper crafter and I knew what I wanted to gift her with. The other creates detailed, fabulous needle work pieces of which I'm clueless. So I made her this simple calendar which is very reminiscent of the elegant style of her art.

Both cards are Lori Whitlock SVG files. The first card looks dull but IRL the colored beads and shiny gold background made a fun shaker card. The calendar prints are all Graphic 45 papers. The flip flops card paper is from Hanami Garden with gold foil outlines on the flowers. Photographing metallics is so hard.

Now to go make my Thai peanut noodle salad for tomorrow.

Incredible, Farley! It would take me a day to make each one of those items.

Thank you everyone!

Marianne it wouldn't take me all day (and half the night) if I could make up my mind on papers. The flip flops card and calendar both went through several versions before I was happy with them. I now have multiple flip flops bases. I definitely wanted the floral print. It it took me awhile to think of using a matte gold base.

So the punchline to the flip flop card...I was so clever and made a second slightly smaller card base so I could cut it in half and use the right half for a liner inside to write on. Fits perfect. I write and stamp sentiment on it, flip it over and add adhesive only to discover I did it all on the wrong side! So when she opens the card today it's on the left side. Well heck, these are one of a kind cards after all.

Gorgeous cards, Farley. Maybe that's another reason I make so few; I don't have the patience to keep plugging away until I get it right. So my hat is definitely off to you.
