Glad I Organized My Thickers Card
Glad I Organized My Thickers Card
Today we are going to a friend's surprise 75th birthday party. I knew that I wanted to do a pile of candles (75!) but beyond that I didn't know how to present that. This evolved yesterday into 2:30 this morning. I still hope to add some kind of embellishment inside plus our message to Mike. He is quite the showman and I thought this had a kind of theatrical look to it.
Candles are from Stamps of Life. The alpha Thickers spelling Mike are black with gold dots. When i consulted my newly organized alphas I knew then what to do. Card base is a beautiful gold card stock and the gold background paper is a glitter gold card stock that I can't find anymore. Another great find while organizing my paper supply.

Thanks everyone!
Marianne, if you look closely the candle stamp is a group of 9 in a row. I inked it with Versamark onto black card stock then used a white glittery embossing powder. I finished them off with a gold Sharpie paint pen. They do look like they are singles. I cut each group out and then just cut 3 more (bottom left) to make 75. Tedious yes but I like how they turned out.

WOW! I love that card.
I was looking for my stash of that glittery gold cardstock at Christmas and couldn't find it. Guess what I found a few days ago. Too late now, but at least I know I still have some and for the time being, I know where it is.

Thanks, Farley. I figured there must a die or stamp fo a row of candles but didn't work it out. It looks great and the sparkle must be dazzling.
