Owl Card
Owl Card
Sometimes you just get plain lucky and find a great bargain. I've desired this Sizzix Owl Thinlet die for months but didn't go for it at the $20-$18 I saw it in stores and online. Then last week by pure fluke I saw it on Amazon for $8.50! It was a sign. It's mine now.
I made this birthday card for a woman I do Auquafit with each week.

Re: Owl Card
It's an adorable card. Love the way you have it open. I love owls! I don't think I've ever seen an owl die.
Re: Owl Card

The design is cute but you made it over the top beautiful with your paper choices!

Too adorable!!! My DIL loves owls - I think I'll try this. Wonder if there's another bargain die out there...
Find time each day to rejoice in the journey...

Re: Owl Card
The fox die is equally adorable and had it been $8.99 I would have jumped on it as well. I had to ask myself, how many times would I actually use this die. But then it's an owl for pete's sake. So I had to have it. Plus I was being very self indulgent last week for my birthday.

Wow! That card is super-cute and amazing! I can appreciate how much care and patience it took to put together, especially if you were using thin dies. I don't get along too well with the thin dies and tend to shy away from them, especially for anything detailed like that.
So nice job!

Thanks Julie. It really isn't difficult to cut. I do use the Big Shot Plus now and i believe it cuts all size dies way better than the older smaller Big Shot.

Re: Owl Card
lalalalalala! Plugging my ears, because I do not need to be made to think that I need another sizzix machine! I'm on my second big shot, because I jammed up my first one and had to completely break it apart to get my die back out. I don't want to hear that there's a better one out there. But I do have a crap-ton of those thin dies, and I do really like the dies, but I've never had much success with anything thicker than the lightest weight cardstock. And the cuts tend to be pretty uneven, causing me to do a lot of hand-cutting and chiseling. No thanks.
